Santa Barbara woman recognized as "Woman of the Year"

Dr. Riskin's work has laid the legal and moral groundwork for deep-rooted change to bring greater justice and security to people around the world.
Dr. Victoria Riskin, a human rights supporter, was both globally and locally honored as one of California's "Women of the Year" on Monday.

SANTA BARBARA, CA (Catholic Online) - Riskin was among women throughout California that was honored by the state's Legislative Women's Caucus.

Once a year, the California Legislative Women's Caucus pushes each assembly-member to select one woman who lives in his or her district that has made a significant impact on the district.

Dr. Riskin was chosen by assembly-member Das Williams for her work, which he says "has laid the legal and moral groundwork for deep-rooted change to bring greater justice and security to people around the world."

Today, Riskin serves as chair of the Board of Trustees for Antioch University in Santa Barbara.
