Famous pianist returning to Santa Barbara

Gil Rosas, a pianist for over 40 years, will be returning to Santa Barbara on Saturday.

SANTA BARBARA, CA (Catholic Online) - The entertainer will be returning for a benefit piano concert at the historic Santa Barba Woman's Club, 670 Mission Canyon Road, where he gave his first ever recital.

Rosas' career as both a pianist and entertainer began at the tender age of 17, when he worked as a musical director at KEYT. Studying piano at UCSB, Gil celebrated his 21st birthday as a guest pianist with the El Paseo Orchestra.

In 2011, the pianist received an honorary award from the Profant Foundation for his musical contributions to the community.

At 5 p.m., a no-host wine bar and appetizers will be available, followed by a stuffed pork chop dinner at 6 p.m. and Rosas' performance at 7 p.m.

Reservations for the dinner and the concert are $40. Donations and proceeds will benefit the Woman's Club Endowment Fund.
